How to win a bullion bar
You have probably taken part in a competition like that at least once. You buy a popular magazine, look at the last page first, solve the crossword which is usually not the most difficult in the world, and send your answers to the editorial office. There is a lottery perhaps once a month and the people whose names get drawn are some gifts. Today such contests are perhaps not at all popular, but a couple of years ago lots of people would try them. Actually, my grandmother once won a bullion bar in this way. She used to read a kind of medical magazine. I can"t remember the title today. She was an excellent puzzle-solver and it usually took her about ten minutes to solve an average-size crossword. She would sometimes post her answers in hope she would win a hairdryer, a gym ball of a new sets of frying pans. However, this time the first prize was a gold bullion bar so it was really a chance to win something more valuable than usual. She posted her answers and waited. And you know what happened? She won! We could hardly believe it, but she received a heavy bullion bar in a parcel four weeks later. She didn"t sell the gold, however. She wanted to save it for the future. Unfortunately, she died five months later. Now I am the owner of the gold, but I still haven"t decided what to do with it.
